About Kyle

Kyle Malone is a writer of speculative fiction and pharmacist based in Dublin, Ireland. He has been writing stories about heroes, castles, and dragons since the age of 9, when a teacher handed him a notebook and told him to fill it with “any kind of story at all.” He sincerely hopes the teacher didn’t regret the choice!

Kyle published his first fantasy story—a novelette entitled “The Frontier”—in 2018 (Deep Magic Magazine). He has also written fiction for an Irish audience (EQUINOX, Books Ireland, Summer 2018) as well as science fiction inspired by his research (IMMUNITY, Visions of Humanity, December 2019; THE LAST SHIP FROM ORINTHIA, SavagePlanets, April 2025). He is currently querying his first full-length novel—Rise of Exile—an epic fantasy set in the same world as “The Frontier”. In 2025, Rise of Exile was selected as a winner in the speculative fiction category of the Date with an Agent competition (in association with the International Literature Festival Dublin).
